Regional Conference for business and stakeholders "CSR in the New Europe: challenges and solutions" on 26 June 2007 in Brussels
New EU Member States and candidate countries experience specific challenges of incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in their country context. To address these challenges UNDP launched a Regional CSR Project funded by the European Commission and has presented the first comprehensive baseline analysis of CSR situation in the region during regional CSR conference on 26 June 2007 in Brussels.

UNDP in Lithuania was leading the implementation of a regional project "Accelerating CSR practices in the new EU member states and candidate countries as a vehicle for harmonization, competitiveness, and social cohesion in the EU", funded by the European Commission and was looking for Event Management Service Company/Individuals to organize a regional CSR conference in Brussels, Belgium on 25-26 June, 2007.
Two international CSR experts visited Lithuania
Two international CSR experts Mark Line (United Kingdom) and Robert Braun (Hungary) have visited Lithuania in March 13-14 2007. Their aim was to meet Lithuanian companies to find out about CSR practices and share their expertise on trends and tendencies in Western Europe and other countries. They have also met with local NGOs, state institutions, associations and trade unions that contribute to the development of CSR in the country to find out social, environmental, ethical and broader economic development priority issues in the country. This visit was a part of regional CSR project funded by European Commission and implemented by UNDP Lithuania.
